About Us: Autumn Rooms is a vibrant café located on Darby St in Cooks Hill. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service alongside our seasonal food and specialty coffee menu. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their culinary career in a supportive and creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of experienced chefs.

• Learn various cooking techniques and kitchen operations.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.

• Help with inventory management and food storage.

• Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and recipes.

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for food and cooking.

• Strong willingness to learn and take direction.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication skills and teamwork spirit.

• Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not required.

Chef de Partie - Autumn Rooms Darby St

Job Description

Job Title: Chef de Partie

Location: Cooks Hill, Newcastle, NSW

Salary: $70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Schedule: Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week)

About Us: Autumn Rooms is a vibrant café located on Darby St in Cooks Hill. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service alongside our seasonal food and specialty coffee menu. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in your designated section, following recipes and presentation standards.

• Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and refine menu items.

• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage supplies, and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and available

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a supportive environment

• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen

• Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes are prepared on time and meet the restaurant’s quality expectations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Culinary school diploma or equivalent training is preferred.

• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
